Middleville, Lanark, Watson's Corners & Perth Tour

• 9.30 am  Arrive Middleville Community Hall - registration,       
           a snack,& a talk on the early settlers
• 10.am  Walk to Middleville Museum
• 11.15am  Leave Middleville for Watson's Corners
• 12 noon  Presentation - the Auld Scots Library in Watson's Corners
• 12.45 pm - leave Watson's Corners
• 1.15 pm Lunch in Lanark - location to be confirmed
• 2.15 pm Visit Lanark Museum -
• 3 pm   Leave for Perth - short stopover at Balderson
• 3.30 pm  Arrival at Perth Museum - introduction
• 4.30 pm  Presentation, Perth Museum

• 5.15pm  Formal tour finishes
• 6. for 6.30pm  Dinner at a Perth Restaurant - possibly Fiddleheads

  The tour has little driving on Hwy 7. Travel along Hwy 417 west to the Almonte turnoff. Take this, go through Almonte, past the Auld Kirk, and finally reach Middleville; park between the Church (on the left, by the cross roads) and the Museum (right at the cross roads). It is a 5-minute walk from the Museum parking lot back to the Church. Fiurther driving instructions will be provided.

  A speaker has agreed to introduce us to the area - with Scots settlement from 1820; the talk will be immediately after registration, in the Middleville Chuch Hall. Our visit to Watson's Corners will include a visit and presentation about the "Auld Scots Library" from 1825. A light lunch in a Church in Lanark, then a visit to the museum.

  After a stopover in Balderson, a visit to the Matheson House Museum; tea and a presentation are being planned. Best way home from Perth is via Franktown and Richmond - direct and avoiding Hwy 7 traffic. Good roads the whole tour.
