Bill Galbraith, a keen follower of the works and deeds of John Buchan, Lord Tweedsmuir, has agreed to give an illustrated slide presentation entitled Tweedsmuirs Travels - Never be off the Road. Bill writes . . Tweedsmuir saw his rôle as a force to help unify the country. John Buchan was motivated by a natural and sincere interest in people.. Throughout his travels, he would meet immigarnt Scots. Bill has degrees from Carleton U and from a University in Brussels, Belgium; for over 25 years he has worked for various Cdn Government departments. Admission Free - the Olde Forge, Carling @ Richmond, 2.30 pm. A light Scots tea follows - $5 donation suggested.

27 March 2011 - A HISTORY OF THE BORDERS FROM EARLIEST TIMES - 120 minutes. ALSITAIR MOFFATT TAKES US ON A JOURNEY THROUGH 5000 TURBULENT YEARS INTO THE CRUCIBLE WHERE THE UK WAS FORMED. Admisssion free, $5 donation for light Scots tea afterwards, reservations appreciated. Hugh & Frances Reekie - Alistar Moffatt is a historian from Kelso, who spent many years at STV Glasgow; he has written numerous books. THE OLDE FORGE IS AT THE JUNCTION OF RICHMOND AND CARLING.
