The speaker - John Young - The title:"John Buchan, Presbyterian Cavalier".
John Young mentions that John Buchan had strong feelings and opinions about volunteerism; this will be mentioned in the presentation, along with other aspects on the life and times of this great man. John Young is a recently-retired senior civil servant who was born and educated in Scotland.

The Victorian Scots Poet McGonagall - a Dundonian with an Irish background. Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan and Julia Foster star on one of Sellers' early movies in the fifties, which takes a light-hearted look at McGonagall's life. A dozen people attended.
