Artist's Statement
This work represents an on-going attempt to re-kindle the spirit of the Earth as a community and to celebrate it. The energy of the creative process belongs to the league of those energies that can uplift, unify and revitalize us. My work explores our place in the world in its broadest sense.
WE CAN NO LONGER HAVE EVERYTHING THAT WE WANT… BUT WE CAN BE MORE THAN WE EVER IMAGINED.
Biography
I have worked as an artist and art educator in Peterborough, Ontario for the past 19 years. I see art as a vital way of connecting with, exploring and responding to the world. My primary medium is paint, however I am also interested in site specific and community based art projects. I have spearheaded many events using the voice of art to raise awareness about global justice issues such as Peace, Africa, HIV/AIDS, the Environment, disenfranchised youth etc. I am a founding member of Art.e.ms, a feminist art collective.
